What
is kinesiology? Kinesiology uses muscle testing to communicate
directly with the body. It is renowned for being able to uncover the underlying
causes of health problems as the body tells its own story of where stress is
held and whether this is emotional, chemical or physical. It is even possible to
trace where an emotional state originated and pinpoints the exact year relevant
before releasing it. Kinesiology
draws on principles of traditional Chinese medicine and can evaluate body
function and well-being through the muscles that are related to organs through
the meridians (i.e. the lines of energy used by acupuncturists). Kinesiology
addresses the needs of the person on all levels and uses the innate wisdom of
the body to bring about a state of well-being. It is a treatment suitable for
all ages. The very young or infirm may be treated through a surrogate. There are
several branches of kinesiology. I am trained in classical kinesiology and
incorporate additional training in cyberkinetics and health kinesiology.
What does a
treatment involve? Initially I ask questions about your health, diet,
lifestyle and any issues you wish to look discuss. You then lie fully clothed on
a treatment couch for muscle testing. The muscle tests are gentle and are not a
test of strength. First of all I ask your body what the priority is and the most
pressing stresses are identified - these can be emotional or chemical imbalances
or
even a
structural issue such as a spinal misalignment. Your body leads the treatment as
your inner wisdom knows what is really important and what needs to be addressed
to bring you
back into balance. Once all major issues are covered, then any other issues
raised will be explored. A typical session will cover both emotional issues as
well as those held in the physical body. Many physical issues have emotional
states underpinning them and kinesiology can identify and release these factors
to enable healing to take place. During the session, clearing
of energy blocks, physical and emotional re-alignments are carried out
using a number of techniques; these include stimulating specific points on the
body, tracing meridian lines or giving an emotional remedy. These corrections
are not painful or intrusive. After the testing is complete, I summarise what
was found and I may recommend some nutritional supplement and discuss changes in
lifestyle or diet that would be beneficial. How many
sessions will I need? The number of sessions depends upon the nature of
your illness or issues. Some find one treatment releases a back-log of
suppressed emotion, and this coupled with lifestyle guidance gives them the
knowledge and insight needed to maintain improved health. Most see changes with
two or three treatments. After the initial appointment, the follow up sessions
are four to five weeks apart to allow for time to see the effects of the changes
and implement the changes in diet or lifestyle. Many then find a quarterly
session helpful to maintain the balance. For more information on the effects of
